About Sh. Junaid
Sh. Junaid Bhaiyat memorized the Holy Qur’an by age 12. He then traveled to Darul ‘Uloom Falah-e-Darain in India to study Tajweed and Urdu. He went on to complete the rigorous 7-year Dars-e-Nizami program at Jaami’ah Islamiyyah Abu Bakr, earning asaneed (chains of transmission) and ijazah (license to teach) in the six canonical books of Hadith and beyond.
He later earned a Master’s degree with highest honors from the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM), specializing in Qur’an and Sunnah Studies. His thesis, a scholarly analysis of Imam Al-Qurtubi’s classical Hadith work, is published at IIUM. Shaykh Junaid also pursued further studies at the Islamic University of Madinah under the guidance of esteemed scholars in Madinah and globally.
Returning to Canada, he was appointed Resident Scholar and Director of Religious Affairs at the International Muslims Organization. He also founded TalkToImam, a global, free Islamic counseling platform.
